THE FIRST GROUP HAS BEEN BOOKED.
IF THERE IS FURTHER INTEREST I CAN TRY TO GET MORE PEOPLE BOOKED IN.
IN ORDER TO GET A PRIVATE INSTRUCTION (TAILORED COURSE) YOU HAVE TO A GROUP OF 4 TO MAKE IT AFFORDABLE. OTHERWISE THE 7-DAY MOUNTAINEERING INTRO IS AN OPTION.

The idea is to get a bunch of mountain excited people together to do a technical mountaineering skills course in early January 2010 (as soon as the flight prices are affordable again after the x-mas/ new-year hype).

Based on the experiences from the ANUMC group two years ago we will go with the Aspiring Guides in Wanaka. Check out there web page to get an idea of a possible course structure and content (http://www.aspiringguides.com/introductory.html). The course duration will be 10 days. The guide - client ration will be 1:4.
Hopefully we will have picked up some skills at the end of the course to be able to climb some of the easier pics by ourselves right afterwards (see NZ mountaineering expedition 'Three Valleys - Three Peaks' on the trip calender)

Participants are highly encouraged to go on or organize plenty of trips (e.g., hiking trips, trad climbing trips, canyoning trips, snow trips) to get a good level of fitness, basic skills in rope work, anchors, belaying, navigation, snow camping, snow climbing, etc.

Pre-trips will be held together with the pre-trips of the NZ mountaineering expedition.
