The chance to practice snow-camping and do a little skiing as well. We'll drive to Guthega, ski across the dam wall, then up the valley a little way to campsite by a snowy creek with a few trees for shelter. Plenty of chances to climb up to Guthega Trig or Mount Tate (if conditions are fine, and for those keen on some telemark turns), or we can stay down in the valley if visibility is not so good.

A good outing if you want to try snow camping because it's a real alpine setting with some deep snow (usually!), but we don't have to ski very far. This trip is an ideal next step for beginners who've just done one of the XC skiing lesson weekends, while intermediate/advanced will also enjoy the campsite for its easy access to fine telemark slopes. More details at the pre-trip.

Trip limit will be 8, I will leave the form open to allow for a waiting list (you will be advised by e-mail).

Prior to the pre-trip meeting, be sure to arrive at the gear store at 5.45pm to get your equipment. Meeting will start at 6.15.
