Jervis Bay is approx. 3 hrs drive from Canberra.
• Magnificent National Parks
• Beautiful and charming small towns, hidden creeks and inlets
• Natural, unspoilt and secluded bays, clear blue waters and incredible white sand beaches
• A hinterland with rugged scenery, mountains, waterfalls, creeks and great bushwalking
The plan is to drive down on Friday (5:30pm) and set up camp in Husskisson. We will be doing two key paddles. One being inside the bay playing at first, practicing self and other rescues followed by a paddle from Green patch/Bristol Point to Bowen Island then onto Murrays Beach for lunch and a swim... the other outside of the bay in relatively sheltered waters of Wreck Bay on the Sussex Inlet side. From Wreck Bay we will paddle onto St Georges Head and return. Stop off at some of the pristine beaches for a break and a bite to eat, swim etc... The paddling will be determined by the weather conditions... the good thing about the bay is we will always find a place to paddle.... the trips each will be in the order of 4-5km one way. It is best if people are confident in a kayak and have paddled relatively regularly on the dawn or evening paddles. There will be opportunities for site seeing, hiking, swimming, snorkelling etc in the late afternoon/evening.
