Have you ever wanted to attend the Cocktails at the Castle but decided against it? Maybe the walk is too far, or the thought of a heavy pack too much. Perhaps exams have gotten in the way? Never fear, the Inaugural Booroomba Banquet is here! Imagine cocktails at the castle with a much easier walk, and with views of our own city....

At midday Saturday, we shall make the short trip to the Booroomba Rocks camp site. A mere hour will see us cover the ONE kilometre walk to middle rocks, the location of our banquet. Here, ladies shall slip on exquisite cocktail dresses whilst gentlemen don black tie garb. Sparkling cocktails and delectable morsels of food shall be served, and the banquet will begin. The backdrop will be the stunning vista of the sun setting over Canberra, casting a golden glow across the expanse of Booroomba Rocks. As darkness falls, the merriment shall continue under the light of stars and the rising moon.

As slumber calls, tents and tarps may call, though sleeping under the stars is recommended. The experience of catching dawn from a snug rocky hollow is not to be missed! A lazy morning will see a leisurely walk back to the cars. Once at the vehicles, we can make a side trip to Angle Crossing for a quick dip and some exploring and rock scrambling. Perfection!

The logistics:
I'll need 1-2 bar staff to coordinate the beverages, so if you feel like volunteering, let me know.
Everyone else will need to prepare/bring a plate of food which a large hungry mob can sample. Ideally it will be prepared in Canberra so that it can be served easily on the Saturday afternoon. Formal garb is also a must!
