This is a 2 weekend course for all levels of sea kayaking. But if numbers allow, you are welcome to come on 1 or both weekends. Dave Winkworth and a friend will provide instruction, with myself and any other experienced people helping. Dave W used to be the examiner for the highest level of sea-kayak instructor, and has done a lot of expedition paddling. So there should be ample opportunity for more experienced paddlers to learn stuff too. We can tailor the weekends to the needs of those who sign up.
We'll do one weekend of technique training, paddle techniques, packing and gear/safety requirements, basic navigation, ocean awareness, rolling, assisted re-entries, towing, surf technique, sailing, etc. depending on what skill level people are at.
The second weekend will put those skills into operation, and we'll paddle somewhere and camp overnight. It'll be tailored to novices, so don't be put off if you don't have much experience. We will do some training sessions on the lake beforehand.
This weekend we'll camp at Moruya River mouth, so it'll be a bit cheaper for petrol and camping.
