On this weekend we'll go to the Paddy Pallin's Telemarking lesson (Saturday) and for a small ski tour (Sunday). The lesson is given by Paddy Pallin, organized in conjunction with the Canberra Cross Country Ski Club. The discounted lesson price is costs $59.95 (normal price is $124), and I believe it takes place in the Perisher area. The level of this telemarking lesson is intermediate/advanced. You should at least have done the 'Beginning Telemarking' and another ski lesson before, or have equivalent experience.
If you're interested you have to book (and pay) the lesson directly with Paddy Pallin, not with me. This is done by calling (02) 6456 2922. But please sign up for this trip so I can organize the transportation.
IMPORTANT: These lessons have a maximum number of 10 participants. Due to the discounted price and the fact that they are also advertised in the Canberra Cross Country Ski Club, they will fill up very quickly. Please to book as early as possible, otherwise you'll miss out! (Last year the CCCSC trips were fully booked one month in advance.)
We will camp at the new camp site close to Island Bend, and leave Canberra in the Saturday morning (leaving on Friday afternoon is possible if there is enough interest). On Sunday we will go for a ski tour in an area not far from the resorts. Its exact location will depend on the snow cover and road closures, so it will be decided closer to the trip.
UPDATE (22/5/2008): I got more information from Paddy Pallin. The lesson will take all day and start at 9:30 in Smiggins. Hence we will have to leave Canberra no later than 6:00am sharp.
