A one day (or shorter) trip out to Wickerslack, to learn how to safely protect climbs - covering things like equalized and redundant anchors, and placing gear for top-roping, etc.
There is no climbing on this trip, just learning. You won't need to bring your harness, or your shoes, or a helmet.
Beginners who sign up should make an effort to read up on anchors before coming - this will save everyone some time, and doing your homework beforehand should help you remember it later. The ANUMC has books available for loaning.
We'll go out for some food the week after and talk about what we learned on the trip - again, to help us all remember it later on, and to have a nice dinner or something.
I'll run the pre-trip via email once enough people have signed up.
A few people have already expressed interest in emails, and they'll get preference for signing up, but please email me if you want to come, as space might clear up.
Please let me know if you have a car when you sign up!
